Jewell Mechanical Contributes to Nashville Tornado Relief Efforts

Being a part of the local community has always been important to us here at Jewell Mechanical.

As we work to address the needs of businesses and homeowners who suffered damage to their businesses and homes earlier this week, our thoughts and prayers are with those who have been impacted by the tornadoes.

As you may know, the early morning tornadoes of March 3, 2020 claimed the lives of more than two dozen people across four Middle Tennessee counties, while causing widespread and often catastrophic damage to homes and businesses. Germantown, East Nashville, Donelson, Mt. Juliet, and Cookeville are among the communities that were hit especially hard, as all experienced EF-2 or EF-3 tornadoes.  

In the wake of the disaster, Jewell Mechanical made contributions to the following non-profits:

 The Nashville area American Red Cross

 The Nashville area Red Cross is operating four shelters, in Nashville, Mt. Juliet, Lebanon and Cookeville.

Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee

Second Harvest Food Bank has been assisting affected Middle Tennessee residents, as well as other relief organizations, as they work to gather resources and emergency supplies for the Nashville area. 

The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee

The Community Foundation has activated the Middle Tennessee Emergency Response Fund to support affected neighborhoods, as well as nonprofits that are helping tornado victims address ongoing needs.

We encourage fellow Nashville area businesses to join our contributions to the above charities, and also encourage local residents to donate to these organizations, all of whom are raising money and engaging volunteers to help tornado victims. For example:

Of course, if you need assistance assessing or repairing damage to your residential or commercial HVAC system and/or plumbing systems, give us a call at (615) 469-5965. It’s a good idea to check your unit for damage before turning it on again, including damage caused by tree limbs or other debris. 

If your HVAC unit has sustained visible damage or has shifted on its concrete slab, it should be professionally inspected before use. Duct work should also be inspected if it has suffered water damage or there is standing water in your crawl space. Inspections of your complete plumbing systems including water heaters are also available.
