What is a SEER Rating?

Home » Helpful HVAC & Plumbing Blog » What is a SEER Rating?

June 4, 2015 by Kathy Dumas

What does the acronym SEER mean to you?

SEER-Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio

This is the rating for the efficiency of each HVAC System. To calculate the SEER rating, you take to cooling output and divide it by the energy input.

Surprisingly, the SEER rating is pretty important these days. Most people recognize it as the rating that tells you how much energy you are going to save. The higher the rating, the more energy you are saving and the more comfortable your home is going to be.

What Rating is Right for you?

A lot of people wonder which SEER Rating is right for their home. This is determined on a case by case basis.  A lot of factors have to be considered, like:

  • Home Square Footage
  • # of Floors
  • # of Rooms
  • Load Calculation (Performed by Technician)

Any of our technicians can look at your home and help you chose the SEER rating that will be the best fit for your home and family.

Call us today to schedule an account representative to look at your home and see which SEER Rating and HVAC System is best for you!
